Weight Loss![]()
A healthy balance with your diet and exercise plan is
required for you to lose weight. This can be achieved
through reducing the calories taken in through your diet, and
by burning off more calories through exercise or ideally
both. When reducing calorie intake you want to reduce
gradually to enable your body to adapt.

Metabolism | This in short is the sum of all the biochemical processes in the body. It takes energy in the form of calories or joules to fuel these processes. Metabolism is the daily amount of energy needed for all these biochemical reactions. Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) is the amount of energy needed to keep the body alive when at complete rest. The more active an individual i.e. heavy lifting at work, the higher their metabolism and therefore the more energy they require. Do I Have to Starve Myself? One of the reasons for people over indulging is the fact that they don’t eat regularly enough. When blood sugar is low you start getting hungry and can binge. The idea is to keep blood sugar levels as consistant as possible. This means you need to eat regular (ideally every 4hrs) with healthy snacks in between if required.
![]() | What should I Be Eating? People eat too much calorie dense food. They feel that just because it was only a small piece of cake or chocolate that it could not possibly hold many calories. This is the misconception. People should be eating healthy food such as fruit and vegetables in abundance and keeping high fatty/sugary foods to a minimum. Certain processed foods say they are low in fat/sugar this doesn’t mean it is necessarily good for you to snack on, they usually contain additives a preservatives, try and opt for natural wholesome foods. |
Is Alcohol Ok?| Alcohol cannot be stored in the body so is known as empty calories.
Whilst the body uses alcohol as fuel it neglects other stores especially
fat!! You don’t need to become a complete t-total but try not to over
indulge. Watch those units! |
